Commission on the Status of Women Public Hearings

Held Fall 2006

Thanks to all of you who participated in the Commission's hearing in Los Angeles, Fresno and Sacramento!

The California Commission on the Status of Women recently released a “Public Policy Agenda and Proposals to the Governor and State Legislature - 2007-2008 Session” that was based, in part, on information received at the public hearings. A special thank you to the individuals - many representing agencies and organizations - for their participation in the public hearings held by the California Commission on the Status of Women in the Fall of 2006. For a complete listing, please click here.

The California Commission on the Status of Women held three public hearings throughout California to learn what issues women and girls are facing and what role the state can play in addressing them, including legislation, state budget, administrative action, or studies.

Hearings were made up entirely of testimony from individuals and organizations bringing their comments and recommendations to the Commission.
