Crystal Young is the Communications Director for California First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom in the Office of Governor Gavin Newsom. Prior to serving in the Governor’s office, she worked as a press secretary for the California Attorney General. Crystal has a long history in the California labor movement, working in communications for Teamsters Local 856 and the United Domestic Workers (AFSCME Local 3930). Prior to that she was a program manager for the United Way of Greater Los Angeles providing direct service to union members in the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO.

Crystal holds a Masters of Arts in Social Justice from Loyola University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in English-Journalism from Adrian College.
