Kimberlee Vaye

Programs Director

Kimberlee Vaye started her tenure with the State of California in 2010 with the Department of State Hospitals and worked within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation through 2019 as a Music Therapist, Supervising Rehabilitation Therapist, and Program Director. Prior to joining the Commission, Kimberlee was with the California Department of Transportation, as a Discipline Services Manager, and led the Caltrans District 10, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion taskforce. As the taskforce lead, Kimberlee worked diligently with internal staff and external partners, to advance equity in the work environment and with the communities within District 10 (Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Mariposa, Merced, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne counties).

Prior to State service, Ms. Vaye worked for seven years in Minneapolis, MN with multi-generational, inner-city families within specially designed mental health and educational programs that respect and preserve individual and cultural dignity.

Kimberlee holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy from Augsburg College, a Master of Arts in Music Therapy from University of Minnesota, and a Master of Science in Management and Leadership from Western Governors University.
