2025 Statewide Convening of Women

The California Commission on the Status of Women and Girls and the Los Angeles County Commission for Women co-hosted the 2025 California Convening of Commissions and Anniversary Celebration at Mount Saint Mary’s University, Los Angeles. At this statewide convening— the first in many years — Commissioners and organizations serving women and girls collectively shaped future goals and policy priorities for women and girls. This gathering marked a pivotal moment to connect, collaborate, and build a stronger, unified voice that transcends regional boundaries.

These insights will inform the Commission’s planning and policy agenda as we work together to advance equity, opportunity, and justice for all women and girls in California.

We are honored to have convened local women’s commissions from across California — for the first time in many years — to collectively shape future goals and policy priorities for women and girls. This gathering marked a pivotal moment to connect, collaborate, and build a stronger, unified voice that transcends regional boundaries.

During this convening, participants from local commissions and women and girl-serving organizations engaged in dynamic breakout sessions to identify shared challenges, opportunities, and solutions. These recommendations reflect the diverse needs and aspirations of communities across the state and will help guide our collective advocacy moving forward.

These insights will inform our collaboration agenda as we work together to advance equity, opportunity, and justice for all women and girls in California.

Thank you to every participant, partner, and commission who contributed to this powerful dialogue. Together, we are building a future where every woman and girl can thrive.
