Alex Zucco

Director of Policy and Legislation

Alex Zucco brings a wealth of experience in policy, advocacy, and public service, spanning two decades. Most recently, she served as the State and Federal Policy Manager for the California Student Aid Commission, managing the policy work for the nation’s largest state financial aid agency. Prior to joining the Student Aid Commission, Alex worked for Attorney General Xavier Becerra, the California State Parent Teacher Association, and Assemblymember Chris Holden, among other roles. 

Alex served in numerous leadership roles with the Junior League of Sacramento, Junior League of California, and Association of Junior Leagues International; graduated the Leadership Sacramento program (class of 2021); is the outgoing President of the Southside Park Neighborhood Association; and was named a “40 Over 40” for 2025. One of her proudest achievements was serving as a Girl Scout leader with the Mt. Wilson Vista Council (now part of the Greater Los Angeles Council).

Alex received her bachelor’s degree in Criminology from the University of La Verne and completed the Women’s Campaign School at Yale’s campaign training program.

Alex is a fourth-generation Californian and lives in Sacramento’s Southside Park neighborhood with her husband, Joe. She has two grown children and two cats.
